How do percentage and fixed discounts combine?

This calculator adds the dollar value of the percentage discount to your fixed discount, then caps the total so it never exceeds the original price. The sale price is list price minus that combined discount.

What is effective discount percentage?

Effective discount is total savings divided by the original price, times 100. If you stack a 10% off and a $5 off on a $100 item, your effective rate reflects the actual savings versus list price.

Is this suitable for invoice-level discounts?
