A painting job breaks down into labor and materials. In the preview, labor is a single row: the rooms in its description, the time spent in hours, and what you charge per hour. The paint then gets its own row with the gallons used and the price per gallon. Tape, sheeting and other supplies can share one further row.
Tax goes in as one percentage on the subtotal. Check how your state treats painting labor and materials before typing a rate.
Worked example, with sample figures: repainting a living room and hallway takes 16 hours at $55.00, 16 × $55.00 = $880.00, and uses 4 gallons of paint at $48.00, 4 × $48.00 = $192.00, plus supplies at 1 × $35.00 = $35.00. The subtotal is $880.00 + $192.00 + $35.00 = $1,107.00 before tax.
