Invoicing Software for Pet Care Businesses

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (US; page last modified September 14, 2026) says: "Animal care and service workers attend to or train animals." It also says: "Animal care and service workers are employed in a variety of settings, including kennels, zoos, stables, animal shelters, pet stores, veterinary clinics, and aquariums."

For a pet care business, that work is billed in different ways: by the night for boarding, by the visit for grooming, walks and sitting, and on a schedule for regular clients. The sections below show how each one fits in Billed.

Billed's invoice software page says you can "save the products and services you sell so you can pull them into an invoice instead of retyping them." Save each service you sell at its price, such as a boarding night, a full groom or a 30-minute walk. Billed's help article on creating an invoice says you add a saved item this way: "Add them to invoices by writing the item's name and selecting it to autofill the entire section."

List add-ons such as a nail trim or a de-shedding treatment as their own lines, so the owner sees each charge. If you charge more over holidays, save the holiday rate as its own service, so it shows as a separate line.

For a boarding stay booked ahead, Billed's estimating page says you can "Enhance your estimates with attachments and customize units and quantities for each product." so a boarding line can show the number of nights. Billed's help article on estimates says: "You can make an estimate and then send it to your client. Your client can approve it to proceed further."

When the stay is ready to bill, Billed's invoice software page describes how you "convert an approved estimate into an invoice". Billed's help article on converting estimates says: "You can add and edit any information here." If the pet stayed an extra night, change the line before you save the invoice.

Billed's invoice software page says: "For clients you bill on a schedule, set up a recurring profile once." It goes on: "Choose the billing frequency (daily, weekly, monthly or yearly) and how many invoices to send, or keep sending until you stop." and "Billed creates the invoices automatically and either sends them or saves them as drafts for you to check."

For a client whose walks change from week to week, saving each invoice as a draft lets you check the number of walks before it goes out.

These are sample figures, before any tax. An owner books a dog for five nights of boarding at 45.00 a night, two of them at the business's holiday rate, which adds 10.00 a night. The business sends an estimate with the nights, and the owner approves it.

At pickup, the business converts the estimate into an invoice and adds the groom the owner asked for during the stay. The invoice lines are: boarding, 5 nights at 45.00 = 225.00; holiday rate, 2 nights at 10.00 = 20.00; full groom, 65.00; nail trim, 15.00. The total is 325.00. The owner pays by card from the invoice.

For walkers and sitters, Billed's mobile app page says: "Build a professional invoice from your phone the moment a job wraps." It also says: "Add line items, your logo, and tax, then send by email or share a link before you leave the site."

Billed's invoice software page says: "Connect your Stripe account and every invoice you send gets a pay button, so clients can pay by card." and "Connect PayPal to add a PayPal option as well." For cash or checks at pickup: "When a client pays by check or cash, record it as an offline payment so all your income is in one place." And after the payment: "After a client pays, you can send them a payment receipt." For unpaid invoices, the same page says: "Invoice reports show which invoices are paid, partially paid or past due, and you can see who owes you money and send them a payment reminder." and "Payment reminders can be customized."
